Explore the deep delta of Bangladesh with its colorful markets
Day 1 Night boat to Barisal
Today we’ll take the boat in the evening to Barisal and we’ll stay on board to sleep. It’s the perfect way to get accustomed to the local way and blend in with the local population.
Day 2 Barisal
In the morning you will board a boat to explore the backwaters, a labyrinth of canals, rivers, streams. There are many villages, floating markets and the whole area is full of life. It is somewhat similar to the Kerala backwaters in South India, but without tourists! In the afternoon we will return to Barisal and stay overnight.
Day 3 Into the Sundarbans
We’ll arrive in the early morning and after some breakfast and tea we’ll start our tour for today! We’ll also have to pass by the forest office to register and will also get a forest guide. We’ll spend the day in the boat and will also do some walking.
Day 4 to 6 Sundarbans
We’ll spend the coming days going deeper into the park and will combine going into smaller arms of the river through our smaller boat and hiking to optimise our wildlife viewing opportunities.
Day 7 To Khulna
Today we’ll make our way back to our starting base and we’ll stay overnight in the town.
Day 8 Return to Dhaka
