Day 1: Dhaka To Sylhet By Train
Today we’ll experience traveling through Bangladesh the local way, by train! We’ll arrive in the afternoon and will check in at the hotel and have a short exploration of the town and will try some local food at dinner.
Day 2: Jaflong
We meet up at the hotel and will go to Jaflong next to the border with India. This will take around two hours. The hill station of Jaflong is surrounded by subtropical mountains covered with forest. There are splendid views over the mountains and rivers. We’ll explore local life and will see the Shangrampunji Waterfall. After lunch we’ll go to Lalakhal where we’ll go on a boat ride on the blue-green clear water, after which we’ll go back to Sylhet.
Day 3: Bholaganj Sada Pathor – Ratargul
Today we’ll go to Bholaganj Shada Pathor, where we’ll go on a boat ride. Bholaganj Sada Pathor is a unique geological feature located in the northeastern region of Bangladesh, near the town of Sylhet. It is a beautiful and mesmerizing location, known for its stunning white rocks and the picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
The name Bholaganj Sada Pathor literally translates to “white stone of Bholaganj,” and it is believed to have been formed over millions of years through the natural process of sedimentation. After our visit we’ll go to Ratargul Swamp Forest where we’ll go on a boat ride. It is a freshwater swamp forest that covers an area of approximately 3,500 acres and is known for its diverse flora and fauna.
What makes Ratargul Swamp Forest unique is that it is one of the few freshwater swamp forests in the world that remains submerged for a significant part of the year. During the monsoon season, the forest is completely flooded, and the trees and plants are almost entirely submerged. However, during the dry season, the water level recedes, and the forest re-emerges, revealing its stunning beauty.
