Lawachara Forest Reserve is a protected forest area located in northeastern Bangladesh, specifically in the district of Moulvibazar. It covers an area of approximately 1,250 hectares and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including many endangered species.

The forest reserve is known for its dense tropical forests, which are home to numerous species of birds, primates, and other wildlife. It is also an important habitat for the critically endangered Hoolock gibbon, which is one of the few species of primates found in Bangladesh.

The forest is managed by the Bangladesh Forest Department and is a popular destination for eco-tourism, research, and education. On your tour you’ll go through a guided hike to explore the forest, observe wildlife, and learn about the ecology of the area.

Unfortunately Lawachara Forest Reserve faces various threats, including deforestation, illegal logging, and poaching. Conservation efforts have been put in place to protect the forest and its wildlife, including the establishment of community-based conservation programs and the enforcement of laws against illegal activities within the forest.
